Studio Improvements Continue

We are working with RRSQ to get the roofing improvements completed. As part of the effort to keep the studio area cool, we need volunteers to install a false ceiling in the studio area. Please contact Suzi immediately if you are available to assist with this effort.

Keeping Cool in the Studio

The FSGNW Board is soliciting donations so that improvements can be made to the cooling system in the studio. If you are able to donate funds or materials, please contact our Treasurer, Starr Payne.

Items Needed

  • Cold cash
  • Window or free-standing air conditioning units, preferably 12,000 BTU or greater output.
  • Time and materials to lower the ceiling area in the studio, to reduce the square footage needing to be cooled.
  • Box (or similar) fans with high output.

LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts invites artists to be a part of its Bi-Annual Jewelry Show,

Hot Glass and Jewelry Show

September 21 through October 27, 2012

We want to showcase the amazing variety of art that is in our area and the versatility of the artist.

2012 LeMoyne Jewelry Invitational

SHOWPIECE

Each jeweler must submit one Showpiece. It should be “out of the ordinary,” something that you have always wanted to do, something spectacular! We will be judging your Showpiece and will present awards, etc. to be announced at a later day. Hot glass artists are invited to create jewelry and submit a showpiece as well. Jewelry artist are invited to cross over and create wall pieces or other 3D works.

In addition to the “showpiece” all artists are invited to enter their popular works of wearable and functional pieces. This has proven to be a very lucrative show for everyone in the past so, the artist will be able to show as many pieces of work as they like.

As in all consignment contracts with LeMoyne, the split is 60/40, where 60 percent goes to the artist. The show runs from September 21 through October 27, 2012. Artists must be at least 18 years of age to participate and agrees to hold harmless LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts in the event of loss or breakage, every effort will be taken to ensure the safety of your work during the holiday.

Friends of Maclay Gardens Art Festival

The Friends of Maclay Gardens, Inc. is having its first ever Art Festival on August 11, 2012, at the Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. You are invited to participate by sponsoring a booth in which to share and/or sell your artwork and crafts. Demonstration of your art or craft is encouraged. Booths are available for $25 and a donation to our silent auction. Booth and lawn space is limited and will be allotted on a first come basis.

In addition, we are looking for outdoor sculptures to place and show in the park from August 6 to August 24. A $25 donation will place a sculpture.
